To gain an apprenticeship with Cavpower, it’s important for you to understand what it takes and what it feels like to represent our brand and our values. That’s why we invite you to our Work Experience Program, where you will participate in a range of activities, teaching you some of the basic skills required to become a fully qualified Caterpillar technician.
The Work Experience Program runs annually from February through to November, with a limited number of places available across our workshops. Some of the locations you can complete work experience with us include: Regency Park, Wingfield, Gepps Cross, Port Lincoln, Mount Gambier, Olympic Dam, Broken Hill and Whyalla.
During the program, you will be required to be in attendance for a full week block (5 days) from 7:30am to 3:36pm, Monday to Friday. The majority of your time will be spent in the workshop completing a number of basic tasks and assessment. If you elect to submit an application for an apprenticeship you can complete the necessary pre-assessment tasks prior to finishing your week of work experience.
When you start your work experience with us, there are some important things to remember:
- Punctuality – Be on time
- Safety – Look after yourself
- Focus – Watch and learn
- Communication – Speak up
- Respect – Be kind to your teammates
- Participation – Get involved
Successful completion of the Work Experience Program forms part of the essential criteria for gaining an apprenticeship with Cavpower.
