The start of something big
Cavpower’s Apprenticeships opportunities were created to empower you to achieve a rewarding career, working on the world’s leading mining, construction, earthmoving, marine, engine, on-highway trucks and power systems equipment manufactured by Caterpillar.
Your training and career path starts now… HERE’S HOW:
- Step 1 – Work Experience: Preferred candidates complete a minimum of one week work experience at Cavpower in years 10 and 11, and one week in year 12
- Step 2 – Completion of Secondary Education: Minimum year 12
- Step 3 – Nominate for apprenticeships: Participate in practical assessment process
- Step 4 – Apprenticeship intake: Interview, police clearance, medical and functional assessment
Once you have completed steps 1-3, your application will be assessed for suitability. A selection of applicants will be contacted by our Human Resources team to confirm details for your final assessment. The final assessment will involve a practical test and interview where a full review of your work experience assessments will be carried out.
We know how important this career path is to you and your family, so we will notify you directly if you are successful for an apprenticeship with us. To finalise the process and answer any questions that you may have, we will invite you and two of your chosen guests (family/carer/partner) to attend a formal acceptance presentation.
The training does not stop there. After completion of your four year Cavpower apprenticeship, we will work with you to develop a long term career plan. Remember, at Cavpower, it’s not just a job, it’s a career, and no matter what your goal is, with dedication and hard work, we can help you achieve it.
The first eight weeks of your time with us is spent with our Apprentice Supervisor in Apprentice Basic Training.
Cavpower provides all apprentices with a subsidised tool kit, all necessary uniforms and personal protective equipment. A discount on additional tooling and merchandise is also available.
