We offer a wide range of grader cutting edges for motor graders. Each provides certain benefits when used in the appropriate application. Using the right edge is critical for enhancing production and keeping total costs to a minimum. The three factors to consider in choosing a cutting edge are shape, width and thickness – there is a wide variety available to fit every application.

The two basic edge shapes are flat and curved – with serrated edges available in both configurations.  Plus, the Cat GraderBits™ system expands the DH-2 range of edge shape options.

General Duty High Carbon Cutting Edges

General Duty High Carbon Cutting Edges are made from SAE1084 steel to deliver a reliable value-priced solution.  They are manufactured for, but not limited to, construction applications – and are especially well suited for sandy soil or lower-impact applications such as finish grading.


Cat DH-2 Cutting Edges

Cat DH-2 cutting edges are made of through-hardened DH-2™ steel, which lasts longer and offers high impact resistance. This means, you will buy fewer parts, have less downtime and spend less money on labour and hardware.

Choosing an edge

What is your application?

Edge selection is critical for enhancing production and keeping cost to a minimum.


A flat edge is best suited for this application. A better penetrating option is a flat serrated edge. A flat edge has limited ability to carry material forward.


A serrated edge penetrates better than a continuous edge because it exerts more down pressure. A curved serrated edge penetrates better than a flat serrated edge with a forward mold board.


Curved edges penetrate the roadway while carrying existing material forward to leave a smooth flat surface. A better penetrating option is a curved serrated edge. A serrated edge will not leave as clean a roadway surface as a continuous edge.
